Thank you for your important work Priti. I'd like to comment on the part where to talk about disability and injustice metaphors. Sometime ago, we argued it on a group... My perspective then, which I still hold now, is: why do we get too touchy over some things. Yes, there's the reality of individual different. Which implies that the view expounded in the article is relative. I, for one, do not see anything wrong with those metaphors. I believe these language usages preceed organized disability rights movements. "Someone would think we protest too much"
I appreciate this stance on reframing. Inspiration porn is almost a rage click bait mechanism to drive viewers and unwarranted accounts of sympathy over just empathy and existence. Disability being paraded as a benchmark becomes ableist in the sense of reducing social spaces to the able bodied (or what is perceived as such). This was amazingly written
